Hope in the Future
Hope in the Future is an invitation to every parish in the Diocese to recognise and develop their missionary identity and their call to evangelise.
First and foremost this process needs to be rooted in prayer and sustained by prayer which is why we are encouraged to pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Hope in the Future, builds on Faith in the Future. The theme of Hope which is key to the catechesis of Pope Francis.

PARISH NOVENA TO THE HOLY SPIRIT
Day 1. Prayer for the Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit
Lord Jesus, before ascending to your Father you promised to send the Holy Spirit to your disciples.
We ask you now to send your Holy Spirit upon our Parish and give us:
The Spirit of Wisdom that we may discern the way forward
The Spirit of Piety that we may love you with true devotion
The Spirit of Courage that we may witness to you come what may

Let nothing disturb you. Let nothing frighten you. All things pass. God does notchange. Patience achieves everything. Whoever has God lacks nothing. God alone

Yours are the eyes through which the compassion of Christ must look out on the

St Jude patron of difficult and hopeless cases
Most holy Apostle St. Jude Thaddeus, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the name of the traitor has caused you to be forgotten by many, but the Church honours and invokes you universally as the patron of hopeless casesand of things despaired of. Pray for me who am so miserable; make use, I implore you, of that particular privilege accorded to you, to bring visible and speedy help, where help is almost despaired of. A Prayer of St John Cardinal Henry Newman
God has created me to do Him some definite service, He has committed some work to me which He has not committed to another. I have my mission – I may never know it in this life, but I will be told it in the next.
I am a link in a chain, a bond of connection between persons. He has not created me for naught. I shall do good, I shall do his work. I shall be an angel of peace, a preacher of truth in my own place while not intending it – if I do but keep His commandments.

Divine Mercy Novena Good Friday to Easter Saturday
Jesus asked that the Feast of the Divine Mercy be preceded by a Novena to the Divine Mercy which would begin on Good Friday.

God our Father, creator and ruler of the universe, in every age you call humanity to develop and use our gifts for the good of others.
With Saint Joseph as our example and guide, help us to do the work you have asked and come to the life you have promised.
